Drawings in Clay
Bryce begins each piece in clay. It is the responsiveness and immediacy of the material that
captures each moment of clarity of gesture, expression, and form. When each piece is realized
and complete, a rubber mold is made from the original. Then, either ceramic material is pressed
into the mold, or an acrylic modified plaster material is poured in, creating a perfect casting
of the original piece. The finished casting is colored in acrylic pigments.
